Coronavirus – Letter from the Provincial Grand Lodge and Chapter

PGM Letterhead

18th March 2020

Brethren and Companions,
I am sure you will all have seen yesterday’s notice from the MW Grand Master
announcing an immediate suspension of all masonic meetings for four months. This is
clear and unambiguous.
The current situation will impact us all in different ways. But now is the time for us all
to pull together and support each other as well as the communities we live in. The role
of the Lodge and Provincial Almoner has always been important, and even more so in
the current environment. But it cannot be left to one or two individuals – we must each
take responsibility to keep in touch with and support, where necessary, not just our
families and friends, but our fellow lodge members and our neighbours and
communities.
Although we will not be meeting for the next four months, there will be plenty going on
in the background, and we will continue to keep you informed with any developments
such as there are, as well as any further procedural guidance. But if you have any
questions or concerns, please feel free to raise them through the usual channels – we
may not have all the answers immediately to hand, so please be patient.
Finally, brethren and companions, my prayers are with you all and your families. Keep
safe and well

Yours sincerely and fraternally
